My life is a hot mess.

Single, working, and raising two daughters, it’s a miracle I get us up, dressed, and fed every morning. Forget about dating—nobody’s got time for that. Even if love hadn’t left me jaded, I’m not settling for anything less than perfect this time around.

Lucky for me, the perfect man just happens to work in my office. But there’s just one small problem: he’s my boss, and is totally off limits. But hey, if it’s meant to be, it’ll find a way, right?

Then a night out with friends turns into a night in with the walking-talking bad boy cliche of a bartender. It’s just one night. No harm, no foul, right?

Except when the hot bartender turns out to be my boss’s trouble-making brother, who wants more than just one night with me. The more I resist the spark between us, the more I find myself wanting him too. Which puts me in the middle of what could be the biggest sibling rivalry of the century.

Life is messy.

And love?

Well, love is even messier.

MY REVIEW

I am screaming! So I was really into the story, turning page after page as things were getting ..messy.. and then IT ENDED! I was so wrapped up in it I didn’t look down to notice how much was left. I need more!

“Sometimes things have to fall apart to be put back together.”

I really loved Lexi.. I’m not a single mother but I found myself relating to her so much. Parenting is hard, it’s messy, it’s tiring. But it’s oh so rewarding and you can tell how much she loves her girls. She’d do anything for them and that’s why she works so hard. The girls are gone to their dads for the weekend and she’s doing something for herself for a change. During a night out on the town with her girlfriends Lexi meets Luke, the bartender.

“A little harmless fun never hurt anyone, right?”

Luke is a former firefighter, a bartender by night, he knows how to cook, and treat a woman in and out of the bedroom. Totally swoon worthy. Add all of that to the way he is with Lexi’s daughters…. my heart melts!

However, he may be a keeper but he’s also got some secrets going on. Secrets from his past that he wants to stay in the past but as we get to the end of Hot Mess I think the past is going to haunt him very much so.

And then there is Cole. He’s not my favorite character but I think there’s more going on with him and Luke that could be brought to light in the next book. There’s so much bad blood and hatred that can only be caused by something big. I had big feelings for him in the beginning to only have them completely flip flopped!

“What, is Cole Voldemort now?”

Hot Mess had me laughing, cringing, smiling and biting my nails. So many emotions on this messy roller coaster.

My rating: 4/5 hot messy stars

*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Many thanks for allowing me to read this book.
