Jane isn’t entirely sure that Cinderella got such a raw deal. Sure, she had a rough start, but didn’t she eventually land a prince and a happily-ever-after? Meanwhile, Jane is busy waiting on her demanding, entitled sisters, running her cleaning business, and . . . yep, not a prince in sight. Until a party and a broken shoe incident leave Jane wondering if princes—or at least, a certain deliciously hunky billionaire—maybe do exist.

Except Brock Wellington isn’t anyone’s dream guy. Hell, a prince would never agree to be auctioned off in marriage to the highest bidder. Or act like an arrogant jerk—even if it was just a façade. Now, as Brock is waiting for the auction chopping block, he figures it’s karmic retribution that he’s tempted by a sexy, sassy woman he can’t have. But while they can’t have a fairy-tale ending, maybe they can indulge in a little bit of fantasy . .

Review:

I love Rachel! She’s one of my favorites that can write anything.

In this modern day Cinderella story we have the glass high heels, the carriage and horses, the wicked sisters and the good looking prince…. lots of original fairy tale elements.

I have to start with Jane’s sisters. They really really were horrible human beings. I couldn’t stand them. I almost wish they weren’t even in the book, I despised them so. I don’t understand Jane’s reasoning for being bossed around by women who are almost THIRTY! That “don’t even know how to pour milk in their own cereal”?! SO gross! I know I know, going with the Cinderella theme but it’s a different era here, she should have kicked them out a longgggg time ago!

Jane -our Cinderella- is a do-good type of girl. Always trying to fix and please everyone else without bothering with herself. She runs the family cleaning business and deals with her god awful sisters and their demeaning demands. So who can blame her when the opportunity comes up to make some cash all on her own. Or so she thinks, till she gets to the job and HE shows up. Brock, prince charming.

Honestly, I loved Brock’s twin brothers more than Brock. I didn’t really connect with his character until well after the halfway point in the story. When we first meet him he’s smiling, charming, and even does a good deed for Jane. Then for a good chunk of the book we get the closed off, arrogant, angry Brock. Which he has his reasons for, I just didn’t connect.

Rachel always has me laughing out loud and this book was no different. Besides the fairy tale aspects of the book, there are some deeper heart felt family moments. I enjoyed that side of the book much better than the Cinderella feel. It was over the top at times and the fairy tale comes off a little too forced.

The Bachelor Auction is a cute feel good kind of read if you’re looking for something to make you laugh and think about life. After enjoying Bentley, Brock’s brother, so much in this book I can’t wait to get to his story.
